Left For Dead: Redstone Hall {Part 1}

Hello there, reader! Today feels like a sharing day
so I thought this would be a good time to share
with you an adventure that I recently went
on with a couple of friends to explore a local,
abandoned building.

Our main reason for visiting the hall was
for photography purposes, but we also
visited out of curiosity; I've had an interest
in abandoned buildings for some time but
have limited my interest to reading online
articles and blog posts, which meant that
this was my chance to at last experience the
eerie atmosphere that comes with abandoned
buildings and explore one for myself.

The first room we entered was sinister, to say
the least. This was mostly due to the fact that
all of the windows -bar one- had been barricaded with
thick sheets of wood, meaning that our only sources of
light were the shattered windows from which we
entered and the weak flicker of our hand-held torches.

The room was in tatters. What was probably once a
recreation area, or dining hall, had now been completely
emptied except for the occasional puddle and an assortment
of crumbling brick. We made the decision to swiftly
advance to the next room. there was definitely something
unsettling about the emptiness and gloom of
that entrance hall, as if something could be lurking in the
shadows, spying on us through the singed and tattered
curtains.

When moving through the house we were almost completely
enveloped in darkness; who knew what kind of
creepy critters could have been scurrying around our very
feet (or even heads, for that matter!) Proceeding from
room to room was also made slightly more difficult
by the random displacement of floor boards and a number
of the doors being either precariously unhinged, or simply
too stiff with decay to even budge. As we explored more of
the first floor, we began to note the extraordinary amount
of floor boards and ceiling panels that were hanging loose above
our heads, almost like a warning, urging us not to continue
up towards the higher levels of the house.

I will leave you there for now as I feel this post is going
to keep continuing into great lengths if I don't stop now!
I will most definitely be sharing more of this particular
adventure in a 'Part 2' so be sure to follow me to keep updated
with that! Thank you for reading, lovely reader!
Stay curious!
